Libertas Academy Boiling Springs (LABSA) has earned an Excellent rating on its 2025–26 South Carolina School Report Card, tying for the highest-performing middle school in Spartanburg County after just three school years in operation. This remarkable achievement marks an exciting milestone for the school, which opened its doors in 2023, and demonstrates the extraordinary academic progress LABSA has made in such a short time.
Libertas Academy Middle School improved its overall report card score by seven points, earning its highest score in school history. In just three completed school years, LABSA has established itself among Spartanburg County's highest-performing middle schools, reflecting its unwavering commitment to academic excellence, high expectations and student success.
The school's academic success extends beyond its middle school. Libertas Academy Elementary also achieved its highest report card score in school history, improving five points to a score of 60 and coming just one point shy of earning an Excellent rating. This impressive growth represents another significant milestone for LABSA, highlighting the strong academic foundation being built for students at every grade level.
Now in its fourth year of operation, these achievements are a testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment to excellence demonstrated by LABSA students, teachers and school leadership.
For School Director Celina Patton, these achievements represent far more than school report card scores. They tell the story of dedicated educators, hardworking students and a school community that continues to raise the bar for what is possible in public education.
"This is an incredible accomplishment for our entire school community, and I could not be more proud of our students and teachers," said Celina Patton, School Director of Libertas Academy Boiling Springs. "Our teachers pour their hearts into helping every student reach their full potential, and our students continue to rise to the high expectations we set for them. These achievements are a testament to what is possible when you combine exceptional educators, hardworking students and a school culture built on excellence. We have so much to celebrate, and I know our best days are still ahead of us."
Since opening its doors in 2023, Libertas Academy Boiling Springs has remained committed to academic excellence, high expectations and developing the next generation of great American citizens. As a tuition-free public charter school, LABSA provides families with an exceptional educational opportunity rooted in a classical curriculum, daily physical education, daily art or music and strong character development through core virtues.
Tony Helton, Founder and CEO of Tutelage School Solutions, the education management organization supporting LABSA, celebrated these achievements as a reflection of The Libertas Way and the school's commitment to providing an exceptional education for every student.
"This is what The Libertas Way is all about," said Helton. "We believe every child deserves access to an exceptional education, regardless of their zip code, and Libertas Academy Boiling Springs continues to demonstrate what that commitment looks like in action. To see both the elementary and middle schools achieve their highest scores in school history, with our middle school now tied for the highest-performing in Spartanburg County after just three completed school years, is something worth celebrating. Celina, her team and these students have built something truly special, and we could not be prouder of what they continue to accomplish."
With both its elementary and middle schools celebrating record-breaking academic achievement after just three completed school years, LABSA continues to demonstrate what is possible when students are challenged, educators are empowered and a school community is united by a commitment to excellence. As Libertas Academy looks ahead, its mission remains unchanged: continuing to raise the bar for academic excellence in pursuit of becoming the top-performing school in all of Spartanburg County.
