Boiling Springs, SC - Libertas academy Boiling Springs has been awarded a $30,000 Summer Reading Camp Community Partnership Grant from the South Carolina Department of Education, marking a significant investment in student literacy and summer learning.

The grant will fund a summer reading program focused on providing intensive instructional support, enrichment opportunities, and additional resources to help students strengthen literacy skills. The grant is part of a statewide effort to expand access to high-quality summer reading camps through partnerships that serve students in high-need communities.

The Summer Reading Camp Community Partnership Grant is awarded based on a rigorous application and review process, recognizing schools and organizations that demonstrate strong plans to support struggling readers through targeted instruction and community collaboration. Funds are intended to support programs that incorporate tutoring, mentorship, and engaging literacy-based activities to accelerate student growth.

As part of this grant, Libertas Academy Boiling Springs is proud to partner with Roper Mountain Science Center, its designated community partner. Their team will provide hands-on science experiences and lab-based learning opportunities for students throughout the summer, further enhancing the impact of the program. This partnership reflects the school’s commitment to delivering high-quality, experiential learning opportunities that enrich student learning beyond the classroom.
